To provide excellent animal care in a pet friendly atmosphere while ensuring our customers, both pet and owner, receive excellent service in a playful, safe environment.
Who we are
Owner/Operator - Sharolynn
Sharolynn has been working with dogs for more than 20 years. She raised and trained shelties for obedience and conformation shows; and now works with troubled dogs who have behavior problems that have marked them for euthanization. She currently has 5 rescues living with her. She has been boarding dogs on an informal basis for many years, trains her own dogs and provides a variety of training opportunities to the community. She has earned AKC Canine Good Citizen titles on 4 dogs, the Dog World Obedience Dog award, several High in Trial awards, Companion Dog and Companion Dog Excellence titles with AKC, UKC and CKC and trained in agility and free-style. She also works full time for the Michigan DNR.
VP of Pet Care - Nancy
Nancy is Sharolynn's mom. She has been taking care of Sharolynn's dogs for many years. Our guests love it when "Grandma Nan" comes by to spoil them while Sharolynn is away. She is experienced in all aspects of pet care and attitude evaluation. She loves to visit and play with all of the pets.
Our Business
Like most small businesses, The Dawg Haus began as a hobby and a way to make a little extra income to support our favorite activities - dog shows, travel, and training.
As more and more people became aware of the services we provided to friends and family, the demand increased and the decision was made to "go professional" with endeavor.
We are still a small facility and plan to stay that way by targeting quality rather than quantity service.
